When I think "Menacing Man With Pistol," that's EXACTLY the shade of fuschia I mean.

Every so often, you hear that debate on comic message boards and forums about how DC's Showcase and Marvel's Essential series are less than ideal because they're printed in black and white. Well, friend, I picked up Dark Horse's new collection of Marvel's Further Adventures of Indiana Jones title, about which more another time, and I've gotta tell ya, I'd gladly trade this book right back to Borders if only I could get a black and white edition instead. My left eye's been watering most of the day, and I blame this artwork.

As a special bonus, check out the first two images for examples of John Byrne and Terry Austin's amazing ability to churn out as many pages a month as they did by not drawing any backgrounds.

Indiana Jones: Because when you think "adventure in the late 1930s," think DAY-GLOW!

Current Mood: tired

Indiana Jones is probably the only hero created in the past 30 years that looks great in sepia. The Rocketeer is a close second, but he needs the color of 30's Hollywood.
