With absolutely no disrespect to anybody whom I have ever hugged, my daughter gives what must surely rank among the very best hugs in the universe. Lately, she has been announcing her hugs with a giant smile and the phrase "Hug time is fun time!" before tackling you with love.

Her brother thinks it is both ridiculous and unnecessary, but I think it's just the cutest thing in the world. Dropping her off is a real treat now, as she brings extra smiles to the Kindercare staff with her new little mission statement.

That's awesome. Hug time IS fun time. And its damned important. Our parents didn't really touch us unless they had to (I still have no idea why, it wasn't as if they didn't love us enough) and we are all wierd about touching people. I love to receive affection but I am relectuant to give it to most people. So yay for reasing and open, happy and healthy child!
